 বায়ু মণ্ডলের স্তর গুলির মধ্যে ট্রপোস্ফিয়ার স্তরে বায়ুর চাপ সবচেয়ে বেশি কারণ এই স্তরে বায়ু মণ্ডলের প্রায় ৭৫% গ্যাসীয় উপাদান যেমন N₂,O2, CO₂ এবং প্রায় ৯৯% জলীয় বাষ্প এই স্তরে থাকে, ফলে এই স্তরে বায়ুর ঘনত্ব অন্যান্য স্তরের চেয়ে বেশি হয়।
